“ It was Sunday nearing 2pm, and Silver Dragon Restaurant was one of the few restaurants that still served dim sum. I loved the fact that even at such a late hour for dim sum, the staff still came by with trays or carts with dim sum. One of the attentive wait staff also came by to offer a menu to order whatever dim sum I did not see on passing by carts. Food was absolutely delicious and I would come again! ”

“ I was keen to give this place a try as a friend told me it was a spot worth checking out in Chinatown. I quickly browsed the menu online and saw they had a pretty good selection of more authentic Chinese dishes than you’re used to at the western style joints, so figured I’d stop in for a quick bite. I wasn’t aware they did a cart service dim sum in the morning and through lunch. They offered me a full menu as well but I decided to give the cart a try. Similar to a barbacoa joint, they continually stop by your table with a new selection of dim sum every few minutes. I had some stewed octopus, shuumai, beef ball, fried rice, and garlic shrimp. For a quick stop, it was a great and convenient meal. I’ll definitely go again for dinner and really dig into the menu next time. Thanks for a great early lunch! ”

“ A great spot for foreigners to enjoy Chinese cuisine, warmly welcomed by friendly staff. It’s mostly foreigners and locals dining here, with no Chinese customers in sight. The portions are smaller than expected, so you’ll need to order a few dishes, and the prices are a bit on the higher side. However, I highly recommend the ginger beef—it’s absolutely delicious! Also, every dim sum dish here is fantastic. I’ve been here twice: once with friends and once with family. Both times, I was very satisfied. The ginger beef is a must-try! ”
“ Silver Dragon has been our favourite dim sum, Chinese food, restaurant, not only in Calgary, but also probably in Canada. They are still operating in the traditional way, pushing trolleys of dim sum around to sell their dim sum. However, they actually also take your order of any dim sum you want that you cannot see in any of the trolleys. That's what I was told when I asked for radish cake after seeing none in a few trolleys. Overall, food has always been very delicious. They have some dim sums that are more rare in other dim sum places, too. For example, “Mexican buns” with BBQ pork filling is phenomenonal. Radish cake is my favorite dim sum. Their prices are decent. Prices depend on the “superiority” of the dim sum, not related to its size. Staff are always very friendly. We always come when we are in town. ”
